Officers were called at about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, for a report of an unknown person at the rear door of a home on Old Orchard Road, the North Haven Police Department said in a Facebook post Wednesday.
“The person ran from the yard onto Skiff Street and headed east,” police wrote. “Near Crestview Drive, while crossing Skiff Street, he was struck by a passing vehicle that did not stop. He was last seen running toward backyards on Crestview Drive. Officers, K9 teams, and a drone searched the area but did not find him.”

What police want to see
Police are asking residents of Old Orchard Road, Skiff Street and Crestview Drive to check home security and doorbell camera footage from Tuesday, Oct. 20, between 7:30 and 11 p.m. The department said it is especially interested in video showing:
- A person on foot moving through yards or along Skiff Street or Crestview Drive
- A vehicle on Skiff Street near Crestview Drive around 10:15 p.m., especially one that may have damage
- Any unusual activity in the neighborhood earlier that evening
He may be hurt, police say
“The person may be hurt,” the department wrote. “If you see someone who looks injured, or find anything unusual in your yard, shed, or vehicle, please call us. Do not approach.”
Police have not released a description of the man or of the vehicle that hit him.
Anyone with footage is asked to contact Sgt. Marcus Artaiz at 203-239-1618, ext. 281, and reference case No. 26-33533. In an emergency, call 911. The department’s main number is 203-239-5321.
